New British Art is an artists’ collective based in South West Wales.
The organisation first grew up as a grass roots studio group in the Grangetown area of Cardiff in 2009. It was set up to enable collaborations between artists at different stages in their career on ambitious projects that individuals might struggle to get off the ground. Moving to Carmarthenshire in 2010 the project continued with an emphasis on the setting up of studios, workshops and the Cilyrynys teaching foundry, from where NBA has established a stable base for their operations.
This year we plan to grow again the collaborative works project through a set of planned commissioned exhibitions and texts presented online and in our showing space at Cilyrynys. This will be accompanied by an ongoing video blog.
The group want to:

-
promote the creation of ambitious new collaborative works
-
encourage younger or recent graduates to work with more experienced artists on new projects
-
seek to widen the audience for the appreciation of the artworks
-
develop new links with other organisations in the UK and overseas
-
make funding applications to support the collaborative activity
New British Art is a not-for-profit unincorporated association. Its current Honorary Officers are: Chair - Luke Mintowt-Czyz; Treasurer - Caroline Taylor; Secretary - Becky Whitmore.
We have a growing list of volunteers who have given time, resources and support with our projects. We are very appreciative of all their help.
